I was sceptical of the "infrared technology" but I am now a true believer!! : Char-Broil Quantum Infrared Urban Gas Grill with Folding Side Shelves

How can I begin explaining how awesome this grill is! After a combine years of having rust as a condiment I began the search for a new grill. I was intrigued by this "Infrared" stuff and decided this was the way to go. I decided on this one because of its size; after all, it's just me and my wife. We were hesitant at first because we've all the time owned the larger grills but we went ahead with the purchase. All I can say is Wow!

Assembly: A itsybitsy more complicated than other grills but not complicated. I'm not a rocket scientist and did well. However, if you buy it somewhere that will assemble it for you, it's worth a combine extra bucks.

Cooking: Make Sure You follow The Directions And Season The Cooking Surfaces! This is the first time I've ever done that and it truly makes a variation (more on this later). It is true that if you're used to cooking on an open flame grill you'll have to re-learn your cooking times. The first thing I cooked on it was steaks and I swear. . .they were better than any I've had before. Ruth's Criss has nothin' on me! I cook my steak medium and commonly this means warm pink in the Center. My steaks were warm and pink Throughout! The searing potential of this grill is phenomenal! Nothing but a good, melt in your mouth, juicy steak! No flare ups meant no charred corners or fat. When we were done there were no itsybitsy burnt pieces pushed to the side.

Clean up: an additional one huge plus! This is where seasoning the cooking face comes in. While cooking, nothing sticks turning your food does not mean tearing your meat apart. We all have cranked our grills on high in the hopes of burning off the crud. Well with this grill, it truly turns everything to ash! Clean up is quick and simple!

So if you value your grilling get this one. Infrared will help make you a true master! Infrared cooking is uncomplicated and roughly worry free. If this size is too small for you they do make larger ones.

Grillin' With Style : Weber 54601 Stationary Cart for Weber Q Grills 200 and 220

It's a cart, so I'll keep it short.

- Assembly takes 10 minutes once you get the parts out of the box and you form out what is what.

- It is pretty sturdy. Holds the Q (about 40 lbs), and a 20 pound tank without wobbling colse to or anything.

- I have it on a concrete deck, so I don't have to roll through "terrain", but it's got decent sized wheels and I don't suppose it'd be too difficult to roll through some grass.

- It comes with the 20 lb. Tank adaptor hose, so value wise, I think it's a great deal than the folding cart which doesn't contain the hose and is much flimsier agreeing to the reviews.

- It could be a small taller; I find the grilling height of the Q a small lower than in a similarly sized "nonportable" grill. Not a big deal--it's not like I've got to slouch over or anything.

It's a exquisite compliment to the Q to turn it into a backyard/deck grilling machine!

Would give it an extra star if the cart weren't so costly (I would dream it should only authentically cost $40-50 and the folding cart should only cost about $30 or so in my mind).

Surprisingly Hot! : Weber 386002 Q 100 Portable Propane Gas Grill

I've had my Weber Q-100 for approximately two years now and I love it! I moved into an apartment building a few years ago and I had to get rid of my large gas Bbq grill (also a Weber). However, I missed being able to grill at a moments notice. Then I saw the Weber Q-100 at a store that sells mostly to Rv owners. They had several others on sale but the store manager said that the Weber was the only one to consider. I bought one and immediately fell in love with it. It works great with fish, steaks, chicken, veggies, you name it! The grill is sturdy and well made. I've never had any problem with the galvanic starter as some have mentioned. A join of thoughts:

* Use aluminum foil on the inside, or else it is a bear to clean
* Use the foil tray in the drip pan for the same fancy (I bought replacements at a hardware store that carries this grill)
* Keep the burner ring free from grease or it won't light all of the way around
* It does seem to go through gas quickly so whether use an adapter for a large tank or have abundance of spare cannisters colse to in case you run out in the middle of a meal

I keep it on the front porch where it hardly takes up any space. I let the neighbors in my building use it as well. We all love our minute Weber!

Update 8/14/08: Well... Apparently holding it on the front porch was not the best idea in the long run. Although it was safe for two years person recently decided that they deserved to own the grill more than I do and stole it late one night. Still, I liked my weber so much that I decided to replace it with it's bigger brother, the Weber Q200. You can see my relate of it by using the link below.

The best conveyable grill around : Weber 566002 Q 220 Gas Grill

This is a great grill, when it works. Unfortunately, getting to get it to work can be a challenge as Weber has a longstanding problem that the security valve in their regulators is very very finicky, particularly if you try to use it with the separately sold Weber adapter hose and a larger 20lb propane tank. The problem is comprehensive and well documented in reviews over the web (see the low-star reviews on the "Weber 41455" on Amazon for instance).

How finicky? If you're lucky, you'll be able to get the grill to light up as long as you are willing to spend 5-10 minutes turning it on every particular time - a long sequence of very very slowly occasion the valve on the propane tank and then letting it all sit for a while for pressures to equalize before you even try to turn on the grill, and then a 5-15 limited "reset sequence" if you do something too fast and it doesn't work the first time... If you're unlucky or have one of their defective regulators, even that won't work.

What if you call buyer service to get help? They're amiable enough and will swiftly diagnose the problem (since it is so common) and offer to ship you a free exchange regulator, but the problem is so comprehensive that they can't build the replacements fast enough to keep them in stock, so you may well be waiting at least a week or two as they ship them to all the customers in front of you in line before you ultimately get your exchange and can start grilling...
